What started with a small handful of unwanted rats in our community grew fast. One early intake wasn’t fixed and got access to another cage, and that single mistake turned into a large, unexpected litter. It’s something a lot of rat owners go through, and we don’t judge it — we help with it.
Since then, the number of surrenders has continued to grow. We’ve taken in over a hundred rats so far, each one needing care, space, and a stable environment. That experience pushed us to build better setups, expand our capacity, and turn this into a structured rescue instead of a temporary solution.
Today we’re caring for close to a hundred rats, all living in enriched enclosures with natural substrates, digging zones, earthworms, pill bugs, and other bioactive support organisms. We track their health, behavior, and progress, work with families looking to adopt, and continue building out improved habitats and routines. Every rat here is handled daily and given space to settle in, socialize, and become comfortable before adoption.
As we grow, we’re working toward better data tracking, long-term health monitoring, and a structured adoption system that keeps placements stable and safe.
